Murang’a MCA arrested for allegedly defrauding woman of Ksh.3M

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday arrested a Murang’a Member of County Assembly (MCA) who is alleged to have conned a woman Ksh.3 million.

Kagunduini Ward MCA Peter Mburu Muthoni allegedly pretended that he could offer the woman a tender to supply ballast to a Chinese company.

“The suspect together with others he had introduced as an ‘Engineer’& a ‘senior staff’ at the Chinese company forged an agreement for the supply of ballast and in the process they defrauded the victim the said amount,” said the DCI.

Mr. Mburu, who is set to be arraigned on Tuesday, will face charges of – among other things — making a document without authority.

The DCI further stated that they are in pursuit of the other two suspects.
