Murkomen’s ‘I’m still a fan of Odinga’ remark draws ire

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen always has something to say, and when it comes to Twitter, Kenyans always have something to say back and he clearly loves the back and forth.

After tweefing with Miguna Miguna recently, the Elgeyo Marakwet was once again placed on the hot seat by Kenyans On Twitter on Wednesday.

Drama began when a Twitter user, Saddique Shaban, posted a photo of a youthful and seemingly jovial Kipchumba Murkomen and other students crowding around then Roads Minister, Raila Odinga, with a caption that seemed to suggest that the outspoken Elgeyo Marakwet Senator was a “big fan” of the opposition leader during his days at the University of Nairobi.

Murkomen replied with a more recent picture of him and Mr. Odinga shaking hands at a public function, with the response that he was still a fan of Odinga. He then added laughing emojis which did not go down well with Odinga’s supporters who felt like they were being mocked.

And so began the downpour;
