Museveni Accused Of Double Speak Over ICC

Is Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni now engaging in double speak on the International Criminal Court’s relationship with his country? Questions have emerged after his government welcomed the arrest and transfer of a senior lord’s resistance army commander Dominic Ongwen to the ICC even after Museveni publicly declared that Uganda’s relationship with the ICC is long over. Now, Museveni had said he intends to move a motion for Africa’s withdrawal from the Rome statute at the 24th ordinary summit of the African union next week…but as Jacky Maribe now reports, Ongwen’s detention awaiting trial at the Hague court, now raises eyebrows on the stand previously taken.
