Muslim Faithful Mark Ramadan

Making the announcement in Mombasa County, Sheikh Muhdar said the moon had been sighted in, among other areas, Lamu, Kwale, Voi and Mombasa towns.

The Muslim cleric has called on all Muslims to use Ramadan to avoid sin, help the needy and maintain peace as required by Islam’s holy book- the quran.

Mombasa county commissioner Nelson Marwa has assured all Muslims of security during the holy month and asked officers not to harass the faithful at night.
