Muslims assured of security during Ramadhan
Coast Regional Coordinator, Nelson Marwa, has assured Muslims of security during the Ramadan period.
Marwa says stringent measures have been put in place to enhance safety during the celebration and ahead of the General Election.
Marwa has directed security agents not to harass Muslims while fighting terrorism as they start to fast to commemorate the first revelation of the Koran to the Prophet Mohammed.
Al Shabaab militants have in the past intensified attacks targeting security agents along the Kenya-Somalia border towns of Mandera and Garrisa using Improvised Explosive Devices.
Less than a week ago, nine police officers were killed in different explosions targeting them and set up by suspected Al Shabaab militants.
