Mutua takes Maendeleo Chap Chap ideology to Vihiga

Machakos County Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has extended his Maendeleo Chap Chap popularisation drive to Vihiga County.

Mutua’s party is a major beneficiary of political defections by leaders fearing bungled nomination exercises in the big parties.

Addressing supporters at Ebusiekwe Esibila, Mutua urged residents to elected leaders with a clean record and willing to lift citizens from poverty.

He boasted over his development record in Machakos County saying he has improved lives of his people by tarmacking roads, drilling boreholes in the water stressed county, provided farmers with inputs and built a world-class stadium in a record two months.

The outspoken governor blamed Kenyan electorate for electing corrupt leaders who continually plunder public resources and come back again after five years seeking another mandate to perpetrate their evil.

Mutua wondered how the country is a global leader in mudslinging politics while it lags behind development wise.

“Kenya is a beautiful country with a lot of potential but too much politics. America is the richest country in the world but in terms of politicking they are number 150 in the world. After the elections politicians get down to work,” said Mutua.

He, however, received backlash from supporters who turned up to receive him complaining that they were denied access of the venue where Mutua was meeting Maendeleo Chap Chap representatives in the county.

They (supporters) reminded Mutua that they are the ones with mandate, through the ballot, to install leaders.

“We wanted to hear his speech, his democratic ideologies but he locked us out. We are the voters,” exclaimed one of the angry supporters.
