Mwangi Kiunjuri: Uhuru &Ruto betrayed Kenyans

Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has hit out at President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto for abandoning their pledge to keep peace when the duo joined hands to seek the presidency in 2013.

Kiunjuri who spoke at a funeral in Nyeri County said that the political temperature are rising because the supporters of both camps are insulting each other as if they are on a payroll.

In his address, Kiunjiri looped in Raila Odinga in his attack condemning him for failing to reprimand his troops when they attacked President in 2017.

He also blaimed the Raila camp for starting the insults wave.

He now wants the three leaders to apologize to Kenyans saying that they are teaching Kenyans “the bad manners”.

He appealed to them to shake hands and show Kenyans the way forward instead of polarizing the nation with political differences.

The Service Party leader also condemned the push to change the constitution as neither Uhuru and Ruto nor Raila Odinga made it clear before the 2017 General Election.

Kiunjuri said that in as much ad the leaders are pushing for change, funds meant for the process would be more useful to farmers and the juakali sector.

He also took issue with the fact that Raila Odinga and William Ruto have not pushed their troops to resolve the stalemate at the Senate and yet they want a share of the 6 million Kikuyu votes in 2022.

Others leader as the event including Nyeri county Members of parliament Rehab Mukami and Laikipia Senator called on a speedy resolution to the revenue sharing formula stalemate.
