Mwingi: Man kills cousin's wife, flees with her severed head
Police in Mwingi Central sub-county are trying to unveil a
mystery where a man from Kyanziani village in Kairungu location, Mwingi Central
sub-county, beheaded his cousin's wife and fled with her head.
Peter Muvea Musili 36 years, is said to have attacked his
cousin's wife Margaret John, 49 years old with a panga while she was going home
from a nearby shopping center and vanished with her head.
Sadly, Peter was located and killed by an irate mob, 20
kilometers from the scene of the crime, after he directed the mob where he had hidden
the head of the deceased.
The police have collected the body of the killer and the
head of the deceased woman was moved to Mwingi level IV hospital where the
other body parts of the woman had been moved yesterday following the incident.
According to Margaret’s husband John Mulwa, they have
previously had some minimal misunderstanding with his cousin.
However, he never thought that such an unimaginable thing
could happen since Peter had been away from home for some time now.
The area chief, Daniel Kyumbo, has confirmed that the
suspect and Margaret were cousins and that Peter had even attempted to torch
down the house of his cousin a while back before the unfortunate incident.
Kyumbo said that the incident was quite gruesome, saying
that police are yet to unravel the mystery.
Kiomo-Kyethani ward MCA Anthony Musyoka has termed the
incident quite unfortunate, urging residents to find amicable ways of settling
disputes instead of resulting in bloodshed.
