A middle-aged man was on Tuesday morning killed by the mob in Mwingi town after he was reportedly found engaging in an unnatural act with a cow.

The deceased was reportedly found at 4:00 AM by a passer-by at the Mavoko area of Mwingi town.

The passer-by raised alarm, alerting the neighbours.

The deceased is said to have turned violent after he was cornered leading into a vicious altercation that led to his death.

Police officers who were alerted about the matter came and moved the body of the deceased to Mwingi level IV hospital mortuary.

Probe into the matter is ongoing.

Kavuvwani Location chief, Nicholas Muvengei confirmed the incident while cautioning locals against taking the law into their own hands.

Muvengei said that according to reports by area residents, the Mavoko area has been facing insecurity, arguing that locals may have overreacted.
