Mwingi police intercept lorry ferrying Somali aliens

Police in Mwingi have seized a lorry that was transporting 32 Somali nationals to Nairobi.

The Somali aliens are said to have been travelling in a lorry that was ferrying gas cylinders and charcoal when they were intercepted at a police roadblock.

Police say the 32 Somalis who had reportedly boarded the lorry in Garissa will be arraigned in court and charged with being in the country illegally.

However, it is still unclear if the aliens were headed for Nairobi as their final destination or they were enroute elsewhere.

The lorry crew is also expected to be charged with human trafficking.
