A village in Mwingi Central is in shock after a 20-year-old man admitted to killing his father and dumping his body in a pit latrine on Sunday.

The 60-year-old man, Isaac Musya Makola, went missing on Sunday prompting a frantic search for his whereabouts by his kin.

According to the Waita Location Chief, Lawrence Mwangangi, neighbours started suspecting his son after they found his selling his father’s goat at the local Kamuwongo market.

“The neighbours noticed that the deceased had been missing for awhile and upon seeing his son with his goats at the market, they quizzed him on his his father’s whereabouts,” Mwangangi said.

It was then that Mr Mwangangi dispatched police officers to the deceased’s homestead in the company of his son.

After interrogations, the son confessed to killing his father and dumping his body in a pit latrine.

The killer has since been arrested and his late father’s body taken to Mwingi Level IV Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem to identify cause of his death.
