My life is in danger, Governor Rasanga claims
Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga has claimed that his life is in danger, just a day after the withdrawal of his security detail.
Addressing the press at his home in Segere, Siaya County, Rasanga alleged that four people have been contracted to kill him over his outright opposition of government and persistent calls for the removal of IEBC commissioners.
According to Governor Rasanga, his two bodyguards were withdrawn after he travelled to Nairobi for the Council of Governors elections on Friday.
The firearms of the two officers were also withdrawn.
Rasanga said that he feels insecure without his security detail claiming that a plot had been hatched to end his life.
The Monday protests left three people dead and scores injured in Kisumu and Siaya after a clash between the police officers and the protesters who were marching to IEBC offices.
He called for the immediate reinstatement of his security detail adding that he wants to be involved in the picking of the officers.
