My party will support Jubilees 2017 choice Biwott

The National Vision Party has asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to hold free and fair elections in 2017.

Speaking in Msambweni, Kwale County during a fundraiser, party leader Nicholas Biwott said credible polls were the only way Kenya would move forward.

Biwott further added that his party would support the Jubilee’s pick in the upcoming General Elections.

His remarks come amid murmurs of dissatisfaction amongst some members of the Jubilee coalition, with Bomet County Governor Isaac Ruto claiming that the ruling camp has been dogged by dictatorship.

Led by Gideon Moi, KANU leaders have also expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s plan to collapse all coalition parties into one outfit ahead of the 2017 polls.

Speaking in Baringo on Saturday, Deputy President William Ruto took a swipe at KANU, saying that the independence party lacks direction. The DP also said that his party was going to use ODM rebels to drum up support in Kisii, Western and Coast regions – areas that have been seen to be “CORD zones”.

Biwott, who was accompanied by his party Secretary General Merere Mwachai, said that every party has a right to campaign in every corner of the country.

Biwott’s remarks come just a day after Majority Leader Aden Duale asked the two teams handling the IEBC matter to collaborate, because Kenyans deserve a solution to the stalemate.
