

The officer commanding Cheptais Police Station in Bungoma county was found dead at his rental rouse on Thursday.
The body of Crispus Sidano Mwandime was discovered on Thursday at the home that is located near the police station.
Neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from his house which they found was locked from the inside.
They alerted police who arrived at the scene and broke into the house assistance from the members of the public.
”The deceased was found lying on the floor beside his bed, his face facing the ground. There was a trail of vomit and blood stains from the toilet to his bed. He had a visible injury on his forehead. The bedroom was littered with bottles of of third generation liquor,” a police report said.
The Bungoma police boss was on annual leave but had come back to the office to process vouchers for last quarter financial year.
