Nairobi medics down tools over pay

Doctors in Nairobi County have downed their tools in protest of what they term as salary delay and promotion among other issues.

While addressing the press, Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union Secretary General Nairobi branch, Dr. Thuranira Kaugiria, said the doctors in Nairobi County have not been paid their salaries for the past six months.

Thuranira now says that the strike will continue until their demands are met.

Services at the Mama Lucy, Pumwani  and Mbagathi  hospitals have since been paralyzed following the strike.
