A Security guard from Madaraka Residence Security Association has been charged in a Nairobi Court after robbing South Sudan Ambassador to Germany’s Aide of the envoy’s valuables at gunpoint.

Joshua Makhoha is accused that on September 1 at Madaraka Estate, Nairobi, with others not before the court and armed with pistols, robbed Martha John Mayom of valuables worth more than Ksh 12 million.

Among the stolen valuables are a safe containing 61,000 dollars in cash, gold jewelry worth more than 5 million shillings and an iPad valued at 30,000 shillings belonging to envoy Isac Wel Majak.

Makokha is also charged with neglect to prevent the commission of felony as an entrusted security man, but he has denied the charges before Nairobi Chief Magistrate, Daniel Ogembo.
