Nairobi Top in HIV/Aids Prevalence

Nairobi County plays host to the highest number of people living with HIV/Aids in the country.

The report also revealed that kenya has experienced a 44 per cent  reduction in the number of new HIV infections in the last five years.

It further outlines that 65 per cent of new infections occurred in nine out of the 47 counties.

Homa Bay was top on the list of counties which reported the highest number of new infections with 15,003, followed by Kisumu with 12,645, Siaya (12,059), Migori (8282), Kisii (5976), Nakuru (4326), Nairobi (3414), Turkana (3141) and Kiambu with 3027.

Among the top ten counties according to HIV/Aids prevelance  are  Nairobi with 177,552, Homabay (159,970), Kisumu (134,826), Siaya (128,568), Migori (88,405), Kisii (63,715), Nakuru (61,598), Kakamega (57,952), Mombasa (54,670) and Kiambu County with 46,656.
