Nairobi West money heist: Cash boxes that had Ksh.72M found empty in Kiambu
13 cash boxes that were stolen from a G4S team in Nairobi West have been recovered empty in Thogoto Forest, Kiambu.
Sources however said the Ksh.72 million that police imposters made away with is still missing.
A report from Kikuyu Police Station said a man tipped off police after he spotted broken cash boxes and bags from different banks.
On reaching the scene, they discovered empty bags from Standard Chartered Bank, Stanbic Bank, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) and Barclays Bank.
Other items recovered include a mobile phone, a SIM card with serial number 89254021104175661927 and a G4S jacket.
Police are still searching for the suspects.
The heist on Thursday has been touted as similar to a scene from a popular TV series La Casa De Papel.

Money Heist Season 4 episode 1,
Nairobi West. 72 M belonging to StanChart Bank stolen by muggers posing as cops from G4S employees. Reminds me of Berlin entering the Bank of Spain.
