Naivasha residents raid witch doctors homes, recover their photos

A section of Naivasha residents have expressed fear after their pictures were found in several homes belonging to alleged witch doctors.

This was after they raided the houses in Karagita estate where paraphernalia used by the traditional healers were discovered.

The raid, that lasted for the better part of the day, followed the killing of two minors in the estate that is home to hundreds of flower farmers.

Charles Maina, a small-scale trader and whose one of the photos was found in the hands of the alleged witch doctors belonged to, said that it was worrying to find his picture at the witch doctor’s place.

His sentiments were echoed John Macharia, another resident who said that they suspected that the pictures had been taken by a freelance photographer in the area.

“We have seen these photographers who take pictures in weddings and burials and this should be stopped as some people are taking advantage of the situation,” Macharia said.

During the raid, one of the alleged witch-doctors, Robert Mageni, defended the trade and admitted to having being in the country illegally.
