Nakuru: 16-year-old boy arrested for killing neighbor over KSh.50

Police in Kuresoi, Nakuru county are holding a 16-year-old Form Two student suspected of killing his 24-year-old neighbor over a KSh.50 debt.

Speaking at his Olenguruone office, area Police Commander Samson Nyarangi said he would divulge further details after investigations into the matter were completed.

The suspect, Vincent Kiprotich according to the family of Nicholas Kipkemoi armed himself with a bow and arrows and shot the deceased on neck after an argument.

In the aftermath of the incident, the deceased was rushed to the Keringet Hospital but was referred to the Olenguruone Hospital and later the Molo hospital due to the severity of the injury.

At the Molo hospital, doctors were wary of operating on him according to reports, forcing his family to transfer him to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.

It was at the Moi refferal hospital that doctors discovered that the arrow had struck his spinal column but it was already too late.

He succumbed to injuries on Friday morning at the same hospital.  His body was moved to the mortuary of the same facility.

His uncle Richard Mahiga has blamed the proliferation of illicit brew at the Ukwala area and the entire Bararget as the cause of the tragedy.
