Nakuru County in grabbed land recovery move

Nakuru County Government has embarked on a process of recovering land that has been grabbed by private developers.

The County Assets Recovery Committee of the Judiciary took a tour across the County to identify land that has been grabbed by individuals.

The county officials expressed concerns over the increased cases of land grabbing targeting Judiciary lands across the country.

Institutional lands such as school playgrounds have been the prime target of these grabbers. Last year, Langata Road Primary School pupils joined activists to protest grabbing of their playground by a private developer in what turned to be an ugly scene with police lobbing teargas to disperse them.
