Nakuru County to hire 500 ECDE teachers

The County government of Nakuru is set to employ over 500 Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) teachers to fill in vacant positions in the county.

Speaking during a tour of development projects in Elburgon Ward on Tuesday, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua said the positions arose after the county government constructed additional ECDE classrooms across the county.

Mbugua added that through the establishment and filling of the ECDE positions, the county government will be creating more job opportunities for youths.

“I encourage the youths to apply for these positions once they are advertised,” he urged, adding that the county government has constructed more than 2600 ECDE additional classrooms and polytechnics within the county.

Mbugua further urged the youth to register for the upcoming General Elections in 217 saying it is important for them to take part in the election.

During the tour Kinuthia donated uniforms to pupils and promised to ensure that the bursary allocation is spread equally among the 55 wards.
