Nakuru Court directs IG Mutyambai to reinstate Kapseret MP Oscar Sudis security

A Nakuru Court has directed the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to reinstate Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi’s security detail.

Senior Resident Magistrate Isaac Orenge said that the withdrawal of the security detail was an unfair administrative action in contravention of natural rules of justice.

The MP, after the ruling, lauded the courts for continuously upholding the fair justice process for the weak, saying that it provides hope for people who are unfairly subjected to mistreatment.

The legislator had filed an application before the Nakuru Senior Resident Magistrate’s court seeking the reinstatement of his security.

Sudi claimed that his life was in danger, arguing that the move had prejudged him before he was tried in court.

The latest comes just a day after the vocal legislator pleaded not guilty to two counts of Hate Speech and Offensive Conduct.

His defense had argued in court that the withdrawal of his security was an affront to justice as suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

The Ruto ally is charged with uttering words that could stir up violence at an unknown place within Kenya.
