Nakuru residents urged to go for cancer screening

Residents in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County have been asked to urgently go for cancer screening for early detection of the deadly killer disease that has claimed many lives in the region.

Speaking during a funeral for the late Brian Kibet Cheruiyot, who was a cancer victim, Kuresoi South Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto said that the dreaded disease could be treated if detected during its early stages.

The deputy governor further informed the residents that the disease has four stages, adding that over four people within a three-kilometer radius are affected by the disease.

Mr Ruto was accompanied by the chief officer of education, culture and sports, Joseph Tonui, and Keringet Ward Member of County Assembly Leah Serem (Obot Somok).
