Nakuru robbery: Police shoot dead two suspects

Police in Nakuru shot dead two suspected robbers who abducted and robbed a man at Lanet pipeline area.

The men who were armed with crude weapons are said to have gained entry into the man’s house by cutting window grills.

They reportedly loaded valuable items into the owner’s Toyota vehicle then blindfolded him.

He was then bundled into the same car which the burglars fled in.

Neighbours who heard the commotion is the one who alerted police in Nakuru of what was going on.

A dramatic chase ensued as the officers pursued the suspects towards Makaburini area in Manyani.

The suspects were waylaid and two of them shot dead even as one managed to flee but with gunshot wounds.

According to Nakuru County Police Commander Hassan Barua, one of the suspects who was gunned down was a well known criminal operating at Kanyon Estate.

He said a manhunt has been launched for the one who fled and urged hospitals to alert them in case he seeks medical attention at any of the facilities.

The two bodies were taken to the Nakuru County morgue.
