Nakuru Woman Rep Chelule irked over increased teen pregnancies

Nakuru County Woman Rep Liza Chelule has expressed anger over the increased number of cases of teen pregnancies in the country.

She said there needs to be serious intervention to fight the menace which according to her, technology through use of mobile phones has worsened the situation.

She further blamed parents for buying phones for their children instead of advising them.

This comes after reports emerged that several primary and secondary school candidates across the country who were sitting for the national exams were pregnant.

In regards to cheating, area MP Chelule however lauded the move by Education and Interior Cabinet Secretaries Amina Mohammed and Dr. Fred Matiang’i to ensure that cases of cheating are dealt with.
