Namwambas party heads to Coast in search for votes

The Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) is set to launch its political offensive in the country’s Caost region as it gathers momentum ahead of the 2017 General Election.

In a statement to newsrooms, the party’s Secretary General, David Makali, said that they will begin a tour of the Coast region this weekend.

Led by party leader and former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General, Ababu Namwamba, the party will start in Mombasa on Saturday, October 22 before proceeding to Kilifi for a series of activities.

According to Namwamba, the party expects to open County offices in Kwale, where they will unveil official aspirants of various positions in the next year’s General Election.

The party started its campaigns last week by touring Bungoma, Busia and Kisii counties where they opened county offices.

After the Coast tour, the party will turn focus to the vote-rich Rift Valley region by visiting Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet and Kajiado Counties.

In July this year, Namwamba resigned as ODM Secretary General.
