Nandi County To Spend 2B To Build Koitalel University

While making the announcement, Nandi County governor Dr. Cleophas intimated that the county intends to increase the number of graduates and professors more than any other county in the country.

The institution will be named after the Kalenjin legendary leader Koitalel arap Samoei who was killed by the British colonialists in 1905.

The Commission for University Education conducted an inspection on the proposed site and revealed that more than 100 acres of land has been allocated for the construction of the Institution.

The county government also signed an agreement with the University of Nairobi to nurture and mould the new university to quality standards.

Three schools that have so far been identified include; the school of Law, School Education and School of Business.

Lagat further reiterated the government’s support towards the project adding that the University will be milestone to the community's economy and education sector.

He further urged the community to engage in public private partnership with UoN so as to benefit from the facility.
