Narok Court sentences minor to three years in jail over murder

A Narok Court has sentenced a 17-year-old boy to 3 years in prison at Shikusa Borstal Institution Correction Centre, after he pleaded guilty to murder and robbery with violence charges.

Appearing before Narok Chief Magistrate, Wilbroda Juma, the accused, Solomon Ndiru Njeru, admitted that on the night of 14th and 15th March, 2016, he collided with Bashir Ibrahim and Ibrahim Abdullah to rob Richard Simiren Kumomoru of a motor vehicle make Toyota Premio, Reg. No. KBN 120P and a mobile phone at Total Estate in Narok.

The stolen vehicle, which is a property of Yiapan Edgar Karsis, together with a Samsung galaxy mobile handset, were valued at Ksh 1.2 million.

 

Other suspects arrested with Njeru have since denied the charges and their cases are still in court.

The victim, who was a taxi driver, was killed and his body found inside the stolen car at a police road block in Nakuru days later.

The suspect has 14 days to appeal.
