Narok floods: Operation to retrieve six vehicles

An operation to retrieve six vehicles that were swept away by flash floods on Saturday evening in Narok County kicked off Sunday morning.

The vehicles including a passenger matatu were swept away after heavy rains cut off the road at Suswa area along the Narok – Maai- Mahiu road.

The operation is being led by the local authorities in collaboration with the owners of the vehicles.

The late evening incident saw some motorists desperately cling on their cars as local residents came to their rescue.

The incident caused a heavy traffic snarl up with some motorists opting to walk to Suswa town centre to spend the night.
