Narok to deal firmly with cases of teen pregnancies

Narok Governor Samuel ole Tunai has called on education and child welfare stakeholders to safe guard the girl child from early marriages and teen pregnancies that have forced many of them to drop out of school.

Tunai says cases of early forced marriages and teen pregnancies have been on the rise and called on the relevant agencies and stakeholders to intervene in order to address this crisis.

He said that the County Government of Narok will act ruthlessly on those found culpable of jeopardizing the education of the girl child.

He added that men found to be a threat to the girl child education will be arrested and handed to the law courts.

“A situation in which girls are found pregnant in High School is unacceptable. As a leader and Governor of this county, I am not going to allow our girls to drop out of school,” noted Tunai.
