NASA accuses Jubilee of wrecking the country in maiden 64 rally

The newly formed National Super Alliance (NASA) held its maiden rally at the 64 Stadium in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu.

NASA leaders; Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula, made a grand entrance into a well-attended rally at the heart of perceived Jubilee Party stronghold, which is also Deputy President William Ruto’s home turf.

The opposition leaders spared no effort tearing into the Jubilee administration saying it (Jubilee) has failed the country and plunged it into debts.

Jubilant Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga, thanked the supporters by heeding their call to turn up in large numbers.

Raila disregarded the notion that the country is divided into different political parties and coalitions strongholds, insisting that everyone has the right to campaign in any region.

NASA leaders reiterated their dedication to remain united and front a single formidable presidential candidate, capable of dislodging President Uhuru Kenyatta from Power in the upcoming August polls.

“We are ready to walk together, No matter how tough it gets,” said ANC leader, Musalia Mudavadi.

Raila asserted that the country dearly needs a regime change claiming that the Jubilee administration has taken the country backward from where he and retired President Mwai Kibaki left it.

“By the time we were leaving office, a bag of maize was selling at Ksh 3,200. Now it is Ksh 3000,” said Raila.

The ODM party leader claimed that NASA is determined to form a government that would genuinely address issues affecting farmers in the country.

He boldly claimed that Jubilee government intentionally purchased counterfeit fertilizer that destroyed maize crop in the North Rift region.

Wananunua fertilizer bandia, inachoma mahindi. sisi kama NASA tutahakikisha wakulima watacheka, wakulima watapata haki yao [They are buying counterfeit fertilizer that is destroying maize crop. We, as NASA, will ensure that farmers will smile, we will give them their right],” said the opposition leader.

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader, Musalia Mudavadi, claimed that Jubilee government has recklessly accumulated foreign debts, which he said has hit dangerous levels.

Mudavadi further slammed the government for flouting public procurement regulations in awarding public tenders.

“Why are government contracts not being made public?” queried Mudavadi.

Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, faulted Deputy President William Ruto for issuing a shoot-to-kill order to security agencies dealing with bandits in the volatile Baringo County.

Kalonzo said that Ruto acted out of his mandate in giving the order.

“There is no law that allows the deputy president to give such an order,” he said.

Kalonzo humorously claimed that NASA would form an all-inclusive government that is even good for ‘Jubilee leaders.’

Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula, faulted the government for misplaced priorities.

Wetangula advised the government prioritise feeding starving citizens instead of allocating funds to fulfill its school laptops election pledge.
