NASA eyes Western, tells Kenyatta to pledge hell not rig polls

Siaya Senator James Orengo now says that National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga will not concede defeat in the coming August 8 General Elections if his rival president Uhuru Kenyatta do not pledge that he will not rig polls.

Speaking in Luanda, Vihiga County, the senator expressed his delight that they have blocked one channel which Jubilee could have used to rig elections owing to Court of Appeal ruling that presidential results announced by constituency returning officers are final, and that they have devised plans to ensure that riging will be impossible for Jubilee.

“We want Uhuru to publicly assure Kenyans that he will not steal votes in August. In 2013 Jubilee rigged elections and this time round we are not ready for the same,” said the senator.

Raila Odinga faulted the Jubilee administration over what he terms as ‘weakening the economy of Kenya since it took office in 2013 to the disadvantage of Kenyans’.

The former Prime Minister exuded confidence that he will trounce president Kenyatta since Jubilee will not be able to influence the outcome of elections in his, Kenyatta, favour owing to Friday, June 23 Court of Appeal’s upholding that presidential elections results announced at the constituency level are final.

Odinga, however, maintained his claims that Jubilee is planning to use the military and the police to execute their plot of rigging themselves into power.

“I would like to urge with security agencies in this country to desist from politics totally. Their work is to maintain peace and order and not to be used by a failed government to rig elections,” said Odinga.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula said that Jubilee leaders are in limbo because the failure for ‘mulembe nation’ to vote as a bloc in 2013 was the main reason why they won and this time round the western votes are in one basket.

“Jubilee leaders have feared because they know that the mulembe nation is voting as a bloc this time round and they know they will lose,” said the Ford Kenya Party leader.

Amani National Congress (ANC) Party leader Musalia Mudavadi looked back in 2013 and recalled how, in company of President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto, they collectively signed a deal to front Mudavadi’s presidential candidacy, only for the two to dump him, explaining how they cannot be trusted with any promise they make.

“Kenyans are no longer ignorant, they are more informed than they were in 2013. Prepare to go home in August,” said Mudavdi.
