NASA forced to change venue for Peoples Assembly forum

The National Super Alliance on Wednesday changed the venue for the Nyanza People’s Assembly Convention from Migori to Homa Bay County over security concerns.

The convention, which is slated for Saturday, January 27, is expected to bring together residents of Migori, Homa Bay, Kisumu, Siaya, Nyamira and Kisii counties who will affirm their support for opposition leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as the People’s President and Deputy President.

Speaking after a meeting, the co-ordination committee members led by their secretary Philip Makabongo said the change of venue was done after consultations with the NASA secretariat.

Mr. Makabongo said plans for the convention are in top gear saying that everything will be set before the planned date.

“We appeal to all elected leaders to provide means of transport to all NASA supporters who are willing to attend the event,” said Mr. Makabongo.

His sentiments were echoed by the committee’s youth leader Oloo Gor who urged the youth to ensure peace prevails during the convention.
