NASA gives Tobiko 72 hours to prosecute IEBC staff

The opposition has given the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) a 72-hour ultimatum to commence investigations and prosecute electoral staff responsible for the nullified presidential poll.

The Raila Odinga-led opposition coalition now wants the DPP, Keriako Tobiko, to probe officials culpable for the illegalities and technicalities that compromised the electronic transmission of presidential election results.

“We will not accept the October 26 date election date if our demands are not met,” said Dagoretti North MP, Simba Arati.

Among Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission staff the National Super Alliance wants prosecuted include the chief executive officer, Ezra Chiloba, ICT Director, James Muhati, Director of Voter Registration, Immaculate Kassait, Deputy Commission Secretary (Operations), Betty Nyabuto, Moses Kipkogey, Abdi Guliye, Molu Boya, Marjan and Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs, Praxedes Tororey, who retired on Friday morning.

NASA accused the named officials of colluding with the Jubilee Party to give undue advantage to President Uhuru Kenyatta to win the August 8 presidential election.
