NASA lawmakers tell supporters to boycott products
National Super Alliance (NASA) parliamentarians led by Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo have on Friday asked Kenyans to boycott corporations and businesses support Jubilee government.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) arm of NASA has given its supporters six days to boycott Safaricom, Brookside Dairy and BIDCO products.
Addressing the media at Okoa Kenya headquarters, Busia Women Representative Florence Mutua accused the companies of working with the government to “frustrating the dreams and aspirations” of Kenyans.
“We have a long and comprehensive list both local and global on our radar which we will be naming at intervals. We want to emphasize that the list will come officially and formally from National Super Alliance,” said Mutua.
NRM further put the named companies on the spot for providing goods and services while Kenyans have continued to lose their lives over the “corrupted” Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
The NASA lawmakers told their supporters that they have until Friday to comply with the party’s directive even though they did not state ramifications to be meted on those that defy the boycott.
Following the declaration of President Uhuru Kenyatta, the opposition leader Raila Odinga said the NASA alliance would form a People’s Assembly to ensure that rule of law and constitutionalism are observed.
The NASA leaders said the opposition would employ among many other tools economic boycott to force the ruling Jubilee Party to dialogue.
