NASA likely to give us a hard time in 2017 polls Jubilee MPs

Murang’a Leaders have asked the Jubilee government not dismiss the formation National Super Alliance (NASA), saying that – in light of the numerous corruption allegations that have rocked the Uhuru Kenyatta led administration – the alliance could pose a serious threat come 2017.

Speaking in Kandara, Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau warned that should Opposition parties form a super alliance, Jubilee would struggle to clinch the ticket in the next General Election.

“To be very honest, corruption allegations have really dented the image of Jubilee and the Opposition has used it as campaign tool. If we don’t relook this very well we shall have a difficult time come 2017,” he said

Echoing his sentiments, Murang’a Women’s Representative Sabina Chege accused NASA for exploiting graft allegations for political gain.

She warned the community against supporting NASA, saying it is a coalition comprised of ‘selfish leaders’.

“NASA is only power-hungry and selfish; that is why they want to change the constitution to fit them. We are watching and they need to know Kenyans are not stupid. We backed the constitution and we will not change it to suit the interest of a few people,” she added.

Kandara MP Alice downplayed the efficacy of the Opposition’s ‘smear campaign’, saying that dragging Jubilee’s name through mud will not work.

“Opposition had no ideas but propaganda. The corruption card they are using will fail terribly like the ICC card failed,” she said.

Over the past few months, mega graft allegations implicating the Jubilee Administration have dominated national headlines. The government has been accused of failing to stamp out the vice, with members of the Opposition using this to question Jubilee’s ability to govern the country.
