NASA pledges free secondary education from September

The Opposition, National Super Alliance (NASA), leader Raila Odinga has pledged to make education free from nursery to Form Four beginning September this year if elected the next President of Kenya on August 8 when Kenyans go to the ballot.

Speaking during the official launch of his presidential bid at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County, Odinga further pledged to boost the education sector by making it available for all.

While accusing the Jubilee administration of failing to address corruption and insecurity in the country, Odinga promised to tackle the challenges affecting common man among the latest high cost of living that has seen the prices of basic commodities skyrocket.

While terming the laptop project a scam, Odinga told NASA supporters that the five man team will not only send the Jubilee administration home in the August poll but is well able to fulfill all their promises laid out in their manifesto.

The ODM party leader further expressed confidence that NASA will form the next government saying that they are 10 million votes strong.

“We are 10 million strong. Those are the votes we already have, what remains is merely a transfer from our supporters into the ballot boxes.”

Odinga further maintained his earlier stance that presidential results announcement must be made at the constituency level saying NASA principals are keen to ensure no rigging take place.

“We will have at least five people in every polling station who will be mandated to man the voting process as well as communicate to our headquarters in Nairobi,” said Odinga.

Odinga further added that the coalition will make an arrangement to ensure that even the registered voters who are hospitalized will get a chance to vote.

On his part, NASA presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka put all corrupt public officers on notice saying the NASA government will liberate Kenyans from the chains of corruption.

Speaking at the same time, NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi accused the Jubilee government of coercing heads of parastatals piling pressure on Managing directors and CEO’S to raise their campaign funds.
