NASA products boycott extortionist, blasts DP Ruto

A section of leaders from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party have scoffed at NASA’s plan to boycott products from companies allegedly linked to the Jubilee government.

Led by Deputy President William Ruto, the leaders have accused the opposition coalition’s boycott call as an extortionist scheme to scare other firms into parting with money in order to be removed from the NASA’s boycott list.

Taking to twitter, DP urged the mentioned companies to continue expanding their investments locally despite the consumer boycott call by NASA.

“As GoK we ask all companies to continue to partner with Kenyans, pay taxes ONLY to KRA and reject the extortion scheme-styled ‘e-boycott’. We advise BIDCO to reject extortion and continue its Ksh20 billion expansion programme that will increase to 12,500 Kenyans working there.” said Ruto.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has also accused NASA leaders of extorting local companies in their economic boycott campaign.

“NASA leaders led by Tinga soliciting bribes from companies to avoid naming them in the boycott list. It’s not boycott they are just broke!” wrote Murkomen.

This comes just hours after NASA parliamentarians led by Homa Bay Woman Rep Gladys Wanga asked Kenyans to boycott Safaricom, Brookside Dairy and BIDCO products and services.

According to the legislators, the named companies are guilty of working with the government to “frustrate the dreams and aspirations” of Kenyans.
