NASA wants IEBC to hire foreign IT experts after Msandos death

The National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal, Musalia Mudavadi, has urged the government to accept UK’s Scotland Yard and USA FBI’s offer to assist in the investigations into the murder of IEBC deputy ICT director, Christopher Chege Musando.

Speaking to the press in Nairobi, the Amani Coalition leader expressed disappointment that neither President Uhuru Kenyatta nor Deputy President, William Ruto, or Attorney General, Githu Muigai, had addressed this matter.

“Our democracy has been thoroughly undermined by the murder of Msando,” said Mudavadi.

While calling for speedy investigations into the murder of Msando, the NASA coalition further intimated that the August polls will not be free and fair unless security of IEBC officials is maintained.

“Unless dramatic steps are taken Kenyans will not be sure if the polls will be credible,” noted Mudavadi.

NASA now wants the electoral body, IEBC, to hire an internationally recognized IT expert to oversee next week elections.

“We suggest IEBC to immediately secure services of international experts to secure the system and whoever takes Musando’s job should perform with integrity.”

This comes just a day after the body of Msando was found at City Mortuary was found on Monday after disappearing on Friday, July 30, 2017 night.

According to Police, his body and that of an unidentified female were found in Kikuyu, Kiambu County and taken to City Mortuary on Sunday.

Mortuary attendants said the bodies were brought in a police vehicle on Sunday and had deep cuts on one arm.

IEBC chairman, Wafula Chebukati, also told the press that Msando was tortured and killed further urging security agencies to look investigate the motive behind his killing.
