NASA wants Tobiko to prosecute Jubilee chief agent Chirchir

The opposition coalition now wants Jubilee Party Chief Agent, Davis Chirchir, to be charged and prosecuted in court and stopped from participating in the October 26 presidential election, alleging that he was involved in the manipulation of August 8 results.

National Super Alliance (NASA) issued the Director of Public Prosecutions, Keriako Tobiko, a 72-hour ultimatum to prosecution the former Energy CS.

The opposition wants  Chirchir and several Safaricom officials charged and prosecuted for breaching Section 17(F) of the Election Offences Act, claiming they intentionally altered or interfered with the functioning of electoral commission poll servers.

“The company’s staff must be charged and prosecuted. The staff together with Chirchir must not be allowed to commit further illegalities,” read the letter.

Safaricom has  refuted opposition leader Raila Odinga’s claims of complicity in the nullified presidential poll, inviting any form of probe or prosecution on the matter.
