‘Nation’ journalists arrested in Mombasa

Two Nation Media Group (NMG) journalists were on Thursday arrested in Mombasa for filming the construction of a hotel allegedly built on Indian Ocean land.

The two were identified as NTV senior Coast cameraman Karim Rajan and Daily Nation photographer Laban Walloga.

The paper reported that the multi-billion hotel in Shanzu area is owned by a top government official.

NMG shared a video clip showing Mr. Rajan and Mr. Walloga being manhandled by workers at the construction site.

The clip is said to have been recorded by Daily Nation reporter Winnie Atieno who was with his colleagues but managed to escape.
