National Bank CEO denies sexual assault claims

National Bank of Kenya CEO Wilfred Musau has asked the court to dismiss a case filed against him by a female employee for allegedly sexually assaulting her.

Musau, in his replying affidavit claims that the allegations of sexual harassment raised against him are malicious and scandalous.

The NBK boss says he believes that the sole reason for the female employee asking for Ksh.55 million is to “sensationalise” the allegations in order to excite the audience targeted by the social media publications.

Further, the CEO says that the case has been brought to court in bad faith and intended to achieve a collateral purpose including vendetta against him.

In the case filed before the Employment and Labour Relations court, Asanta Samantha Luku has accused Musau of threatening to sack her if she does not give in to his sexual overtures.

Mr. Musau further accused her of giving two different versions of the incident.

He said that in her affidavit, Ms. Luku claimed she was kicked in her private parts and punched in her breasts but reported to the police as having been slapped on both cheeks after which she fell down and sustained bruises on the right knee.

“The contents of the medical report furnished by the claimant from the hospital did not correspond with the injuries the claimant advised the police she had sustained,” read the statement.
