National Lands Commission Grilling Day 2

Represented by lawyer Ahmednasir Abdulahi in the sittings at KICC in Nairobi, the firm claims it owns 32,000 acres of land in Lamu and has a title deed issued on 1st October 2012 and a 45 year lease.

Ali Godana, the ranch secretary, says their ranch is only owed by more than 1,000 members of the Witu community in 405 households who use it for grazing.

Godana has further denied any links between Witu Nyongoro and 3 other ranches, namely Witu Livestock Cooperation Ranch, Witu Livestock Communication Ranch and Witu Conservation Self Help Group.
