National Lands Commission To Audit Schools’ Land

Swazuri has written a letter to the Education Cabinet Secretary Prof Jacob Kaimenyi to this effect in order to take an audit of land they own.

Dr. Swazuri says many parcels belonging to schools have either been encroached or grabbed while many others do not have title deeds

The NLC chairman has now given schools up to March 31st to provide information detailing the status of their land.

Speaking at Kathawana market during the swearing in of the Tharaka Nithi Land Board members, Swazuri said his commission was tasked with the responsibility of ensuring public utility land was protected.

He said they had received many grievances from schools and other public institutions over land being grabbed.
