Dr. Inge lehmann: Dr. Inge Lehmann was a Danish geophysicist who, in 1936, discovered the earth’s fourth and innermost core. Google celebrated her would-be 127th birthday with a doodle on Wednesday, May 13th that prompted Kenyans online to learn more about her.

UEFA Champions League: Football fans were interested in establishing the results and fixtures of the UEFA Champions league match between Juventus and Real Madrid – as well as Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Nepal earthquake, Nepal: Nepal was hit by yet another earthquake that claimed 40 people. This was the second earthquake after another that occured on 25th April that claimed over 8,000 people.

Lupus: Lupus is a chronic and presently-incurable illness of the immune system, a condition in which the body's defence mechanism attacks itself causing inflammation and damage in the joints, muscles and other organs. World Lupus Day was
marked on May 10th.

Nairobi floods: Nairobi was in the news again after floods wreaked havoc in 2 days of heavy rains that started on Monday. Many motorists were stuck in traffic jams due to the floods. Nairobians took to social media platforms – Twitter and Facebook – to vent out their frustration.

KPL, Gor Mahia: The Kenyan Premier League was a trending search topic as football fans went online to establish the fixtures and results of scheduled matches. This week saw Gor Mahia midfielder, Ali Hassan Abondo, named the Kenya Premier League player of the month in a ceremony held at the  City Stadium in Nairobi.

Bob Marley: Robert Nesta "Bob" Marley was a Jamaican reggae musician who achieved international fame and acclaim. Bob Marley died on May 11 1981 in Miami Florida and Kenyans went online to join the rest of the world in celebrating his 34th Anniversary.
