Night fire leaves 40 Migori families homeless
More than 40 families in Muhoroni Town were forced to spend the night in the cold after a fire broke out Thursday, reducing property worth millions of shillings to ashes.
According to an eye witness, the inferno gutted down close to 100 houses in the area leaving the owners gaping in dismay as they were unable to salvage anything.
“Everyone was caught off guard and efforts to rescue the property proved fruitless because of the intensity of the fire,” noted the witness.
The affected families have appealed on well-wishers to help them get back on their feet.
No one was hurt during the incident.
Police have since launched investigations into the matter to establish the cause of the fire.
