Night Runners Decry Harassment by Members of the Public

The chairman of night runners union, Mr Jackson Songo, said that the recent intimidation, especially in Homabay County, can be attributed to the rampant killings of sheep by wild animals which find their way out of the Lambwe Game Reserves.

Mr Songo said that there was need to sit down with the Kenya Wild Life service and discuss the issue in order to stop blaming night runners for the killings.

He appealed to the members of the public to allow them to carry out their activities freely at night as they do so in decorum.

He further added that they would soon demonstrate to them how they carry out their activities in a broad day light so that night running can be recognised as a sport.
