Nightmare traffic at Londiani junction as Kenyans loot overturned cement truck

Two people cheated death after a trailer they were traveling in lost control and overturned near the Londiani junction on the Kericho-Nakuru highway.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck which was ferrying bags of cement from Nakuru General Directions crashed near Londiani junction, with preliminary investigations pointing to brake failure.

The truck ended up in a ditch, with the driver and his conductor escaping with minor injuries.

Members of the public alerted to the accident swung in, and seized the opportunity to loot the cement consignment.

The accident caused a heavy traffic snarl-up stretching over 4kms on the  both stretches of the highway.

Police officers from Londiani arrived at the scene and managed to disperse the looters restoring normalcy on the busy highway.

The truck was also moved to the police station.
