NIS Acquisition Of Land Under Probe

This is after the Intelligence agency bought 400 acres of public land in Kitui for as little as Sh 7000.

This has therefore raised concerns over the legality of the transaction.

The acquisition of the land has raised controversy after Kitui County Government refused to give permission for the title deed to be issued.

The NIS has received an allotment letter for the land.

The county government says the land is a prime area used for crop and livestock production.

The NIS plans to build training centers for recruits and for enhancing senior officers’ skills.

The dispute has gotten to the Senate as the House Committee on Lands continues with its investigations.
